OUR Videos

The Office of Undergraduate Research has developed original video content over the years to help explain how research is done across different fields and how to navigate tricky processes like applying for a grant.  In fact, we have our own YouTube page OURatNU!  We hope the videos will be informative and, dare we say, fun!  Combine these videos with a meeting with an OUR advisor for maximum impact!

SEMPLE’S WORDS: The Answers for Your Undergrad Research Questions!

Undergraduate research is confusing. How do you deal with faculty? What happens when your plans change? Wait, creative arts projects can be research too? Well, university trustee Howard Semple is just as confused as you are. Except instead of learning the answers like normal people, Howard decides to host a talk show, so he can offer his own “advice.” Luckily for the students interviewed, the show’s director Jamie and a steady parade of interns are there to help provide answers and stop Howard from being, well, Howard (at least as much as that is possible). Each episode covers a core problem that many students face in research, and it seeks to offer concrete, actionable advice to help you make the most of the amazing opportunity found in doing undergraduate research.
