It was a hot one today. The kids and I switched hotels this morning to Nancy’s friend’s place. I am happy with that as construction started at 8:00am – it sounded like they were cutting through metal pipes 6 inches from my head. Of course, the kids slept right through it! We had a lovely breakfast, and then we wandered to the Duomo, where we connected with Nic and Houston.
We walked the streets a bit, and then we found Nancy. We had a great lunch at one of her favorite places,
and then we wandered around a market for a bit. We went to a great leather store where an old friend of Nancy’s works, and Sophie bought a beautiful leather jacket! She looks amazing in it! Then we got some gelato and wandered towards Santa Croce, where we connected with Louise and Meredith, great friends from the UK who came to see us.
We headed back to Alice’s to get the cars and drove up into the hills surrounding Florence for an amazing meals in a garden.
Sophie went out on the town with Alessia, having a great time with kids her own age! We dropped the others at the hotel, and then Nancy and I went to return the rental cars by the airport. It was super hot (mid 90s) and finding wifi to communicate was a challenge, so the day was slower today. Still, we all love Firenze!
