The Office of the Provost supports a number of undergraduate research programs, under the direction of Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education Ron Braeutigam.  These programs are open to students across the University whereas many other programs are restricted by school affiliation or major.  On this page, you will find links to the seven main programs run by the Office of the Provost:

• Academic Year Undergraduate Research Grants (Academic Year URG): funding independent student research during the academic year
• Summer Undergraduate Research Grants (Summer URG): funding independent student research during the summer
  
• Conference Travel Grants (CTG): funding for students presenting at conferences/meetings
• Undergraduate Language Grants (ULG): funding intensive summer language study
• Circumnavigators Travel-Study Grant: $9,000 to support an around-the-world travel-study project during the summer between junior and senior year.
• Undergraduate Engagement Grants (UEG): funding intensive student projects beyond other grant programs 

• Undergraduate Research Assistant Program (URAP): a new pilot program funding research assistants to work on faculty research projects
• Humanities Research Workshops (HRW): a new program designed to help students in the humantiies and creative arts learn to get involved in research in their fields

In addition, the Office of the Provost runs the Undergraduate Research and Arts Exposition.  This event showcases the amazing research and creative endeavors done by undergraduates and takes place every May.
